Now that we’re in the middle of fall season I have began cooking and baking with a lot of squashes and seasonal produce. This weekend I bought a huge bag of apples so this morning I looked up warm breakfast recipes with apples and came across Apple Spiced Stew. Sounded very delicious so I began making it.
I modified the recipe I used to my liking and it came out wonderfully. Here are the steps if you want to try this for yourself.
- Peel and cut 5 apples into thin slices.
- Combine apples, spoon of honey, and a good shake of cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, clove. Mix in pot and put to boil.
- Once apples have softened add 1 cup boiling water and put to simmer for 20min.
Very simple to make and you can serve it with granola or ice cream or just on its own.
Happy Fall!
